Embracing Failure: The Mercy of Jesus

Nov. 25-Dec. 2

Scripture: Mark 14:53-72, 16:7

This week we pray for:

  • Safe travel, meaningful connections with family and friends, and refreshing encouragement for students over Thanksgiving Break.
  • Students who are not able to be with their own families during Thanksgiving, especially our international students, that God would provide loving community, joy and warm hospitality over the break.
  • Staff who will be keeping the campus safe and running over this Thanksgiving week, that they would find strength, peace and joy as they serve God by stewarding their roles at Whitworth.
  • Campus Worship this week:
    • Tuesday’s Chapel Community Worship as Forrest Buckner preaches in our series, “This Changes Everything: Meeting Jesus in the Gospel of Mark”
    • Monday’s reflective Morning Prayer service
  • Wednesday’s Staff Development Coffee, as staff from across campus gather for community and mutual encouragement in support of Whitworth’s mission.
  • Whitworth University, with thanksgiving for God’s provision and blessing over the past 129 years, providing a Christ-centered education of mind and heart to thousands of students.

God of mercy and love, we are grateful for the mercy that you have shown us, reaching down to fallen humanity and lifting us up to be seated together with your beloved Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, who died that we might live. Thank you for your incredible forgiveness and your amazing grace towards us. Help us show your mercy and compassion through the power of your Spirit this day and always. Amen.
