I AM the Resurrection and the Life

Nov. 13-19

John 11:17-35

This week we pray for:

  • Students to keep their focus and persevere in both curricular and extracurricular commitments through the fall semester.
  • The Associated Students of Whitworth University (ASWU) student government members as they provide leadership for student government at Whitworth, including their monthly Town Hall meeting in which they provide an opportunity for healthy and constructive conversation about debatable topics.
  • Students to connect with God and grow in Christ, both on and off campus, and we pray for those students who desire to be a Christian witness, that they would winsomely point to Jesus in word and deed to those around them.
  • Campus Worship this week:
    • Tuesday’s Chapel Community Worship as Kent McDonald preaches in our series, “God Made Known: Jesus’ I AM statements in the Gospel of John”
    • Tuesday night’s student-led Hosanna worship gathering
    • Wednesday night’s student-led AWAKE ministry gathering
    • Thursday’s Chapel Community Worship gathering for music and the Lord’s Supper
    • Monday, Wednesday and Friday reflective Morning Prayer services.
  • Thursday’s 10th Annual International Education & Diversity Forum, as this year’s speaker, student Come Nzibarega, shares his story of “Diversity in the Face of Adversity.” We pray that the event would build international and cultural understanding, prepare individuals for life in a global environment and encourage conversations around diversity for the purpose of equipping students to love and serve humanity according to God’s purposes.
  • Whitworth’s many international students, particularly as they celebrate on Friday the 32nd annual International Festival, in which students from around the world share a taste of their home culture through dance and food. We give thanks for each international student and pray for them to be sustained, loved and equipped well in their season at Whitworth.

Thank you, Lord, that you are our resurrection and life. We are grateful that you have revealed your power and your glory to us, because you love us. Fill us anew with the wonder of not only your love and your power but your amazing grace toward us. Amen.
