Surprising Mercy and Thanks

Nov. 21-28, 2016

Scripture:
Luke 17:1-10

This week we pray for…

  • safe travels, rejuvenation, and good connections with family and friends over Thanksgiving Break.
  • our student-athletes as they enter into competition in winter sports. We ask for God-centered hard work, humility, community, growth, and development in their journeys of faith.
  • the My Family is Everything/ Mi Familia Es Todo art exhibit that uses photography to document the personal, family, and societal struggles of communities in the Southwestern U.S.
  • Chapel Community Worship, on Tuesday, as Forrest Buckner preaches, continuing our series, The Year of the Lord’s Favor, out of the Gospel of Luke.
  • God’s provision for, and blessing of, Whitworth University for nearly 127 years; we offer our thanks to God for the Christ-centered education of mind and heart that Whitworth has been able to offer thousands of students over the years.

Thanksgiving:
Lord, thank you for your mercy. We give you humble thanks for all your goodness and loving-kindness to us and to all whom you have made. We bless you for our creation, preservation, and blessings, and above all for your immeasurable love in the redemption of the world through our Lord. Thank you for the means of grace and the hope of glory in Jesus. Give us such an awareness of your mercies that we may show forth your praise with truly thankful hearts, through Jesus Christ, our Lord, to whom we offer honor and glory throughout all ages. Amen.
