New Creation: The Messiah Reigns

Dec. 7-13

Galatians 6:11-18

This week we pray for…

  • students to have wisdom to know the meaning and purpose of their learning, so that their knowledge, understanding, and skills may be used to the fullest.
  • those who have been sick and hospitalized in our Whitworth community. We ask for continued healing and recovery.
  • college campuses nationwide as communities grapple with the reality of ongoing racism and stand against it; for the Whitworth community as we continue to move forward in our work in diversity, equity, and inclusion in hopes that every student will thrive here.
  • Light the Way, an annual celebration of faculty and staff who go above and beyond their work and make a financial gift in support of the Whitworth mission. We ask that those who see the luminaria on the Hello Walk might pause a moment to think of their generous colleagues and their dedication to Whitworth.
  • the President’s Christmas reception and dinner as Beck and Julie Taylor gather with the Whitworth community for food, fellowship, and festivities.
  • all who attend and perform in the annual Christmas Festival Concerts on the 12th and 13th in Spokane. We ask that the glorious music would help them experience the wonder and joy of the miracle of Christmas.
  • this Advent season, as we prepare for and celebrate the coming of the Savior.
  • the final week of campus worship for this semester – for Tuesday’s community chapel service, as we gather in worship for music, prayer, and our final message from Forrest Buckner from the book of Galatians; for Hosanna, as our students gather for a time of reflection, worship, praise and sharing the Word of God.; for Wednesday’s AWAKE, as students gather for prayer, praise, and the power of God’s Word; and for Thursday’s community worship service, where we’ll celebrate the Lord’s Supper and enjoy fellowship through diverse worship styles.

God, we are grateful for this Advent season: We wait in great anticipation for the One who reigns to all generations and over the nations. Thank you for the Messiah, our Savior and our soon-coming King, who is clothed with majesty and kingdom authority. He reigns.
