The Gospel of Belief: All Nations Will Be Blessed

Oct. 5-11

Scripture:
Galatians 3:1-14

This week we pray for…

  • our students’ physical and mental well-being as they continue to work hard at their studies.
  • our students to continue to choose relationships wisely and to nurture them intentionally; we ask that every student would find a place of belonging at Whitworth.
  • Whitworth’s Faculty Assembly, as faculty members collaborate to advance the university’s mission.
  • the President’s Coffee for Staff, as Whitworth President Beck Taylor recognizes staff members’ years of service.
  • Monday’s inclusive-university-classroom workshops and lecture for the Whitworth community. Our presenter will be Dena Samuels, Ph.D., author of The Culturally Inclusive Educator: Preparing for a Multicultural World.
  • Tuesday’s community chapel service, as we come together to hear the Word of God from Dean of Spiritual Life Forrest Buckner, who will preach from the Book of Galatians; for Hosanna, as our students gather for a time of reflection, sharing scriptures, and worship; for Wednesday night’s AWAKE gathering for community and teaching in Jesus’ name; and for Thursday’s chapel service as we gather for fellowship, reflection, and the Lord’s Supper.
prospective students as they are welcomed to Whitworth to tour the campus and attend an admissions presentation, parent presentation, and student panel.
  • for rehearsals and performances filled with joy, gratitude, community, and worship, as the Whitworth Symphony Orchestra performs with the Coeur d’Alene Symphony.
  • Saturday’s event celebrating the 100-year-anniversary of the Whitworth Auxiliary, at which the community will give thanks for a century of commitment and good works in support of Whitworth and its mission.

Thanksgiving:
Lord, we are so grateful that because we are in relationship with you, the blessings that you promised the children of Israel are ours. And we thank you for the fact that through the Holy Spirit and through faith, we can claim these promises in your Son, Jesus Christ.
