God Gives Us Hope in the Future
Jan. 27-Feb. 2
Scripture:
May God grant you your heart’s desire, and fulfill all your plans…. May the LORD fulfill all your petitions.
Psalm 20:4-5
This week we pray for…
- on-campus students as they complete assignments and take final exams on Monday and Tuesday for Jan Term courses.
- students and faculty in off-campus programs as they return to the U.S. and to Spokane throughout the next week. Cultural reentry can be difficult, as can re-acclimation to the winter environment. May God provide all that is necessary for good transitions in anticipation of spring semester.
- students’ finances, health, and spiritual wellness. Ask that in the midst of all the “busyness,” some burdens will be lifted from their shoulders.
- the president’s cabinet, as its members work diligently as stewards of Whitworth’s programs and future. May they have wisdom from God to make decisions that will protect and strengthen Whitworth’s Christian mission.
- the Whitworth Center for Gifted Education Institute, Jan. 27, as participants develop their abilities to be faithful teachers and guides for students in Spokane schools.
- Initiative 4.4 of our Courage at the Crossroads 2011-21 Vision and Strategic Plan, as we work to “strengthen recruitment and retention of faculty and staff to enhance diversity and to expand leadership opportunities for women and for individuals from underrepresented racial and ethnic populations.”
Thanksgiving:
Lord, we are so grateful for this Jan Term. Thank you for fulfilling the many plans that you have laid out for our lives as our students have studied and travelled. As the season changes once again and we turn toward spring semester, may we trust totally in you.
