Your Attitude Should Be the Same as Christ Jesus (Phil. 2:5)

Jan. 21-27

Philippians 1:6
And this is my prayer: that your love may abound more and more with knowledge and depth of insight.

We pray for…

  • students, faculty, and staff who will participate Monday in the traditional Martin Luther King, Jr., Day March in downtown Spokane. We ask that they will understand and embrace their responsibility to serve in this community in honor of Dr. King’s memory.
  • our students, faculty, and staff who are travelling during Jan Term in the following courses:

Education: Intercultural Field Experience (Thailand)
Marine Ecology (San Juan Islands)
Math History (Europe)
Power of Politics in Art (Europe)
Spanish Language (Guatemala)

  • Whitworth students and faculty who will be in Washington, D.C., as a part of the Media Impact course and who will witness President Barack Obama’s second-term swearing-in. We continue to pray for all those in elected office, that they will have the wisdom and courage to lead our nation toward its highest ideals for the common good of all residents.
  • the board of trustees as it meets Thursday-Saturday to discuss the Courage at the Crossroads 2021 Strategic Plan. May God’s spirit guide the board in its ongoing leadership of the university as we all strive to “honor God, follow Chris, and serve humanity.”
  • our continuing efforts, as part of Initiative 4.2 of the strategic plan, to equip the Whitworth community to live, work and learn in relationships that reflect the call to love God and to love one’s neighbor, through curricular and co-curricular programs, professional development, and training opportunities.

Lord, you love everyone whom you created in your image. We thank you for leading us on a journey that teaches us to love as you have loved us in Jesus Christ. Guide us, through every step, to walk in your ways.
