Doing Good to All People

Nov. 12-18

Scripture:
Galatians 6:10
Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers.

This week we pray for…

  • students, as they engage in conversation with their academic advisors and register for Jan Term and spring semester. Ask that God will lead each and every one in the way they are to go in their pursuit of academic life.
  • students to have discipline in the development of their spiritual lives and boldness in sharing their faith.
  • U.S. veterans from Whitworth University; all veterans who served our country and who will be honored on our campus on Monday; the Gonzaga community as it grieves the loss of alumnus Matt Fazarri, who was killed this summer in Afghanistan. Pray too for the families who have lost loved ones and for those who have returned home after serving our country.
  • the president’s coffee on Tuesday morning, as Beck Taylor introduces new employees, updates all employees on the state of the university, and shares in morning devotion.
  • campus worship Tuesday, as President Taylor shares with us from the book of Galatians 6:10-18; please pray also for Hosanna, as our students come together for a student-led service of reflection, prayer and worship. Finally, ask for God’s blessing on Thursday’s service as we enjoy the Whitworth Choir and participate in holy communion.
  • Initiative 2.5 of the Courage at the Crossroads 2021 Vision and Strategic Plan, as Whitworth strengthens institutional efforts to identify, mentor and support students with the potential and desire to apply for highly selective post-baccalaureate fellowships and/or graduate schools.

Thanksgiving:
Lord we thank you for setting the example to do good to all people. We are grateful for the strength to pursue our vocations with vigor, empowered by the ongoing presence of your Holy Spirit.
