Preserving Life

March 19-25

Scripture:
Psalm 138:7 (NLT)
Though I walk in the midst of trouble, you preserve my life; you stretch out your hand against the anger of my foes, and with your right hand you save me.

Prayer:

  • Pray that the gifts and talents of students who want to serve Christ will be used for the glory of God.
  • Pray that our students will continue to have a greater level of accountability in witnessing to others and that they will share the love of Christ with compassion.
  • Pray that students will make the time to pray and seek the Lord.
  • Pray that students will continue to have Shalom, the peace that allows them to focus and succeed.
  • Pray for student athletes who are participating in sports around the country this week.
  • Pray for the Whitworth Orchestra Festival on March 19-20, as well as for the students who will be participating. Pray for a large audience and a successful event.
  • Pray that students will be relaxed and refreshed during this week of Spring Break (March 19-23). Pray that they will travel safely and return to Whitworth rested and ready for the rest of spring semester.
  • Pray for Whitworth’s “Courage at the Crossroads” commitment to providing an education, grounded in the liberal arts, that empowers individuals for lifelong learning, professional development, and meaningful citizenship and service to society. Pray for the success of the university’s plans to deepen connections to the liberal arts across the curriculum, equipping students to think critically, reason coherently and communicate clearly, drawing upon evidence from a broad base of theoretical and applied knowledge.

Thanksgiving:
Lord, we are thankful that even in the midst of troubles and challenges, you preserve life. You stretch out your right hand to us, letting us know that we are safe, secure and saved. We are so very grateful, Lord.
