Delight in God’s Ways

Feb. 13-19

Scripture:
Psalm 37:3 (NIV)
Trust in the Lord and do good; dwell in the land and enjoy safe pasture.

Prayer:

  • Pray that all of our students will be continually encouraged to achieve their goals and pursue their dreams.
  • Pray that students will continue to make sound decisions in their schoolwork, their jobs, and their relationships.
  • Pray that students will seek the Lord and that they will share their faith with others in love and in truth.
  • Pray that the Lord will continue to equip students with every good work and that they will be prepared both “in season” and “out of season.”
  • Pray for students who are auditioning on Feb. 12 for 2012-13 music scholarships.
  • Pray for students who will have the opportunity on Feb. 14 to find out about studying abroad for Jan Term 2013; ask that they seek wisdom and knowledge about their possible destinations.
  • Pray as our campus gathers for community worship Feb. 14 in the chapel as we continue the series on the miracles from Marks’ Gospel.
  • Pray for the Class of 2012 as its members prepare for their next journey and for what it means to be a Whitworthian for life.
  • Pray as we gather for community worship on Feb. 16 to celebrate in praise and worship and to serve one another through the Lord’s Supper.
  • Pray as students attend the Feb. 17 Whitworth Leadership Fair to learn more about the opportunities for leadership positions on campus.
  • Pray for Initiative 4.1 of Whitworth 2021, “Courage at the Crossroads,” as Whitworth aspires to achieve and sustain a level of excellence that values the role of a welcoming and diverse community and to strengthen its capacity to assess, monitor, support and lead efforts to achieve institutional goals for diversity, inclusiveness and intercultural competency.

Thanksgiving:
Lord, we are so thankful that you equip us for our challenges, even though sometimes we may feel that you are far away. We are grateful for the victories, and we thank you even for the failures, for in them we find strength – because you have promised never to leave us nor forsake us, and we delight in your ways.
