God Is the Strength of Our Heart and Our Portion Forever

Feb. 6-12

Psalm 73:28 (NIV)
But as for me, it is good to be near God. I have made the sovereign Lord my refuge; I will tell of all your deeds.

  • Pray for our students, who need both physical and spiritual strength as they continue into the spring semester.
  • Pray that students will truly come to know the meaning and purpose of their lives, and that they will have the knowledge, understanding, and skills to help make this world a better place for the glory of God.
  • Pray for our faculty as they encourage the progress and success of our students, and ask that they continue to have the confidence and wisdom necessary for such important work.
  • Continue to pray for the faculty art exhibit, “Smoke and Mirrors,” as our campus enjoys the work of our very talented Whitworth art faculty through Feb. 11.
  • Pray for our community worship service in the chapel on Feb. 7, as Dean of Spiritual Life Terry McGonigal shares with us the miracles from Mark’s Gospel.
  • Pray as students gather Feb. 7 for Hosanna, an evening of praise and worship.
  • Pray for the Whitworth University Camp Fair, Feb. 8, where local camps will recruit students for summer employment.
  • Pray for students who welcome vendors from the community during the Feb. 9 Health and Wellness Fair, as local businesses determine how best to serve students’ health and wellness needs.
  • Pray for students, faculty and staff as they celebrate the Lord’s Supper on Feb. 9 in our community worship service.
  • Pray for the members of our men’s and women’s swim teams as they compete at the NWC championships Feb. 10-12.
  • Pray for the men’s and women’s basketball teams as they compete at Linfield on Feb. 10 and Pacific on Feb. 11.
  • Pray for Initiative 3.3 of Whitworth 2021, “Courage at the Crossroads,” and ask that we meet our goal of establishing ongoing assessment of our study-abroad programs, ensuring their consistent quality and connections to Whitworth’s educational goals.

Lord, we acknowledge that your plans for us are more important that what we desire. We thank you throughout the day for supplying all of our needs. We are thankful knowing that you care for us in the midst of our busy lives.
