Hear Our Prayer, O Lord

Jan. 16-22

Scripture:
Psalm 143:1 (NIV)
LORD, hear my prayer, and listen to my cry for mercy; in your faithfulness and righteousness, come to my relief.

Prayer:

  • Pray that our students will persevere in good times and in times of adversity as they continue their Jan Term classes.
  • Pray that our students will be empowered to live in the love of God and to seek peace together on our campus.
  • Pray for faculty and staff as they guide, support and help students during Jan Term. Pray that God will heal and sustain with loving care our students who are ill or in need.
  • Pray that our students will continue to pray for other students who may be going through times of loneliness or crisis in their lives; ask that they may provide help to one another.
  • Celebrate with prayer the Martin Luther King, Jr., Holiday (Jan. 15). Praise God for those who sacrificed their lives for justice.
  • Pray for Initiative 3.1 of the “Courage at the Crossroads” 2011-2021 strategic plan. Ask that we be enabled to expand opportunities for students to study language, engage other cultures, and explore understandings of justice in cross-cultural settings throughout the world.

Thanksgiving:
Lord, we thank you that you hear our prayers and that you listen to our cries. We are grateful that you offer us the mercy, faithfulness and righteousness that relieve us of our despair.
