Your Word Is True!

Nov. 27-Dec. 4

Scripture:
Psalm 119:160
Your promises have been thoroughly tested, and every one of your righteous judgments endures forever.

Prayer:

  • Pray for students as they return from the Thanksgiving holidays; ask that they will be refreshed through their time with family and friends.
  • Pray for students who are struggling with class assignments and ask that they will know that God is able to do exceedingly and abundantly above all they could ever ask or think.
  • Pray that students who are ill will experience a quick recovery so that they may complete the semester with strength in body, mind, and spirit.
  • Pray for students who have lost loved ones over the past several weeks. Remember their families and ask that they find continued support within our Whitworth community.
  • Pray for Faculty Scholarship Forum on Nov. 28, as faculty members gather.
  • Pray for chapel services on Nov. 29 as Assistant V. P. Larry Burnley shares from Philippians 3:17-21.
  • Pray for all those involved in the concert band and Jazz Ensemble II fall concert on Nov. 29 for the overall success of the event.
  • Pray for Thursday chapel as the community gathers Dec. 1 for Advent music and prayer.
  • Pray for traveling mercies as the Whitworth University Choir performs its Christmas Festival concerts in Bellevue on Dec. 3 and in Seattle on Dec. 4. Pray that God will use them to bring the gift of praise and worship to the body of Christ.
  • Pray for Initiative 2.2 of the Whitworth 2021: Courage at the Crossroads strategic plan as Whitworth continues to develop and implement a vision for 21st-century teaching and learning that enhances academic rigor and educational outcomes.

Thanksgiving:
God, we are so grateful to you for the revelation of your trustworthy Word, for it is reliable and dependable, and it never fails. During this Advent season we are reminded again through your Word that you remain faithful to your promises and committed to be present with all your people throughout the world.
