Oh, Give Thanks!

Nov. 21-27

Scripture:
Psalm 107:1 (NLT)
Give thanks to the LORD, for he is good! His faithful love endures forever.

Prayer:

  • Pray for students as they continue to build solid relationships with classmates, faculty and staff.
  • Pray that students who become ill during the semester will recover quickly.
  • Pray that students who need help will be motivated to seek guidance to complete class assignments and to face personal challenges and obligations.
  • Pray for traveling mercies as students prepare to go home for Thanksgiving and that they will return to Whitworth safely.
  • Pray for chapel services on Nov. 22, as Campus Pastor Mindy Smith shares with us from Philippians 3: 12-16: “We press toward the goal.”
  • Pray for the safety of facilities staffers who ensure that we are safe on campus from the effects of impending winter weather.
  • Pray as we move forward with the implementation of Initiative No. 8 from the Whitworth 2021: Courage at the Crossroads vision statement and strategic plan: “Whitworth aspires to expand its constituent and resource base in order to advance the university’s mission with comprehensive and sustainable excellence. Significant increased giving and sound stewardship of all university resources will enable investments in strategic initiatives and improvements to the quality of the student experience.”

Thanksgiving:
Lord, we give you thanks for all the wonderful things you have done for us. During this Thanksgiving season, we thank you for joy and health, for friends and family, for daily provision, for your mercy and care, and for the many blessings you have bestowed upon us.
