Hope and Trust

Oct. 31-Nov. 6

Scripture:
Psalm 18: 35-36 (NLT)
35 You have given me your shield of victory. Your right hand supports me; your help has made me great. 36 You have made a wide path for my feet to keep them from slipping.

Prayers:

  • Pray that students will find hope in God, and that they will trust their Creator and Provider to meet their needs as they complete their assignments and exams.
  • Pray for traveling mercies as students return to campus from Fall Break, and ask that they l find a renewed strength upon their return.
  • Pray for faculty as they prepare to meet with their advisees before registration for Jan Term and spring semester. This is an important time of discernment; may God give wisdom in every faculty-student conversation.
  • Pray for chapel services on Nov. 1 as Karen Petersen-Finch shares the message “Remain and Continue,” coming from the book of Philippians 1:19-30.
  • Pray as the Whitworth Women’s Choir sings in chapel on Nov. 3
  • Pray for Initiative No. 5 of the Whitworth 2021 Vision and Strategic Plan, “Courage at the Crossroads”: “Whitworth is committed to providing an education, grounded in the liberal arts, that empowers individuals for lifelong learning, professional development, and meaningful citizenship and service to society.”

Thanksgiving:
We are so grateful that we have hope and trust in a loving God. We are thankful that God’s protection covers us and keeps us, and that God remains faithful in our frailties.
